New Year, New You!

There is never a bad time to decide that you want to start living healthy.  But is there a *best* time??

We are coming up on January 1,2016, and the time for New Year's resolutions is upon us. The thing about New Year's resolutions is they are destined for failure, right?  Wrong!  They don't have to be!  The only thing that can cause you to fail is you.

I can tell you from experience that the only reason I'm not further along than I am is because of me. I started this blog a while ago, and always slack off with it.  Something always happens and my fitness routine falls by the wayside.
Thankfully, the one thing I've managed to stick to (for the most part) is my diet.  And I don't mean "diet" like,  I'm on a diet.  I mean diet, like, what I eat regularly.  It is probably the only reason I haven't gained back everything I've lost yet.

But this is going to be MY YEAR.  This is also going to be YOUR YEAR.  We can do this together!

We are going to create recipe pages, as well as a page with some of the best free fitness websites out there!  Stay tuned!

Who am I kidding???

I must be crazy. Seriously.
I have the attention span of a gnat.  I am serious about that, too.

So, I am still using Tribesports.  Haven't got bored with it. :) Haven't logged a workout because I am not certain how to log the workouts I am doing.

I NEVER thought that I would "get into" Beach Body. I checked it out, once, and decided that it wasn't for me. Apparently, someone had other plans, however.

I met this really awesome lady who is a BB coach.  She started a fitness group here locally, and I jumped on the opportunity to workout with other people and maybe make some friends. It has been truly awesome.  And she is going to run Tough Mudder next year!! :D

She introduced me to a couple of programs by using them to workout on Tuesdays and Thursdays with the group.  I am absolutely HOOKED on Les Mills Combat!  The intensity is right up my alley, and the trainers in the videos are awesome. They really keep you pumped during the workout.  There are three levels; three programs.  It is at the post office right now and I can't get it....UGH!!!

So I haven't started the first level yet, but will as soon as it gets here.  I am so excited and can't wait!

My New Thing

OK, so it has become even more apparent that I get bored, and I get discouraged when I devote so much time to something and see zero results. However, I am not to be deterred.  And now I have found my new niche. :)

It is called Tribe Sports ( tribesports.com ) and it is amazing.  There are thousands of people who participate everyday, and I would even go so far as to call it the "Facebook" of the fitness world.  I have seen other sites that say they offer this sort of experience, but this one is on top. You create your profile like you would for any other social network, with a fitness bio.  You follow people, people follow you, and there are leader boards, and medals to earn (and you start earning them immediately, which really keeps you motivated).  You join tribes, and complete challenges. You log your fitness ( I haven't yet seen anywhere to log food.  I don't think that is something you do on this site, but I personally only ever logged food to keep track of what I was eating, not for calories or any other reason so that doesn't bother me at all), and logging your fitness is easy.  I usually hate logging ANYTHING because of the redundancy of it.  Tribe Sports seems to make it easy.

And yes, there is a mobile app.  However, I am finding that I use the mobile web rather than the app.  The app is really good for logging workouts on the go, or keeping track of your run or cycling, but other than that, I haven't found much else it is useful for.

I didn't think I would get bored with my last "thing" but I did.  I am not going to say that I wont get bored with Tribe Sports, because anything is possible.  I really hope that I don't though.  There are literally thousands of people, challenges, and workouts to connect with. If you start to get bored, find a new challenge.  Find something different there are literally THOUSANDS of possibilities.

This is it.  This is what I have been looking for all along.  This is going to get me ready for Tough Mudder.

Tribe Sports is absolutely amazing and I wish I would have found it 10 months ago. :)
